Our House....

in the middle of our street!!

This is my new favorite song now, by the way.  I should make up some lyrics for us.  I've had the kids singing it.

I took this photo on Monday when I stopped by to see the progress on the porch pillars.  Aren't those cloud ominous?  It was bright and sunny and it never rained - those clouds just came in out of nowhere.  Where I'm taking the photo from won't be a possible in about a month or two since a house is about to be built there.

As for recent progress, we have purchased 2 inch faux wood (white) blinds for all 18 windows that needed covering.  That still doesn't cover all the windows though.  I got a big curtain/drape thing for the sliding glass door and I still need to figure out what I'm doing with the master bathroom window (SOON!).  I was thinking of doing a decorative window film for the 2nd floor foyer window but given that applying one of those films requires some real work that I don't want to do 12 feet in the air, I'm going to opt for a sheer with a tension rod for now.  I'm skeevy about uncovered windows in most places so getting those blinds up will be a top priority.

The heat is officially on too (haven't felt it yet) and they are getting the house warmed up for carpet next week and I would assume the hard woods.  Although they keep them all covered until the final walk through so we really won't get the full effect until Friday, April 19.

Although I hate how cold it has been, at least mother nature is cooperating with our issue of not having any warm weather clothes although temps in the 50's would be better than what we've got today.  Yuck!  Looks like it's going to be a frigid Easter with temps in the 40's.  At least that is the forecast now.  Blech.
