Pre-K Suits Her

It's hard to believe Piper has been in Pre-K for almost a month now.  Although with the Jewish holidays, it seems like she's missed several days already and there won't be any school for a week in October, but she's been there for several weeks and she's doing great!  Big thanks to my mom and MIL who have been volunteering and doing drop off and pick up with her since it's only for a few hours three days a week.  My MIL called me yesterday just to tell me how cute Piper is about school.  She said she just gets so excited to go and has to carry her backpack on both shoulders just to get into the car and then back on again to walk in.  (She also puts her backpack on the back seat of the van just like Caroline and Bryce do when they go to school.)  And then every day when you ask her about school she has all kinds of stories to tell.  She's so proud to show you her "homework" and ask what you think of the classwork she brought home.  I can't tell you how much I enjoy her stories about the fire drill or about the new friend she made and held hand with on the way to the playground.  It's just so precious.

And then there are the little sayings she learns in class.  I love when she mumbles out her version of the Pledge or sings "Head, Shoulders, Knees, & Toes."  But best of all is when she says the pre-snack poem.  I have to get a video or I will kick myself later.  Something about closing her eyes, folding her hands, and thinking about their day.  She knows I love it and will say it any time she wants my attention.

So note to self....take video of Piper doing her pre-snack poem!
