Word Shortening

Piper has her share of speech and grammar issues (and is doing really well) but it cracks me up about her latest development.  She shortens words into her own slang and she's clearly doing it to be witty because she gets this smirk on her face when she does it.

The first time she did it last week I wasn't sure what she meant but then I figured it out.  The kid is smart.  She is constantly telling me she is hungry and I tell her I don't want to hear it anymore, especially right after she eats.

"Mommy, I'm hung!"

Yep, that's new Piper code for "Mommy, I'm hungry."

She has another one she does too but for the life of me right now I cannot remember it, but my favorite one is this one:

"Mommy, can I play on the putes?"

("Mommy, can I play on the computer?")

Now mind you, she hasn't had any issues saying either of these words for a while now so I'm not concerned.  I love that she's created her own slang.  She thinks she's so funny.

We tend to call strawberries, "straws" on purpose. Ha ha. My mom got mad at our slang. :)
