Disney Anticipation

When we booked our Disney trip back in mid-August, it seemed VERY far away.  Well, I guess it kind of was.  (And thank goodness we booked when we did because we managed to snag a free dining plan - Disney changed the dates a few days after we booked and we wouldn't have gotten it had we waited.)  But here we are now, less than 50 days out (and paid in full!), and it's now getting very close.

And this coming week, I know of 3 friends who will be in Disney.  I'm especially excited for them because I know how excited they are based on how I'm feeling.  But for now, I'm trying to savor the anticipation.  I've always thought that the planning and anticipation are just as much a part of the trip as the actual trip itself.  Just like we love the weeks leading up to Christmas, I am loving the weeks leading up to Disney.  I remember back in 2010 when I got my copy of the Unofficial Disney Guide realizing that it was technically the beginning of our Disney experience.  From the time I've spent reading the book, surfing the DisBoards, selecting our resort, booking our trip, and then making all of our dining reservations, I can honestly say I'm already totally loving this Disney trip.  And now that we're getting closer, it gets even better.

The next thing I need to do is meet with my mom/dad and brother/SIL to go over the plans I've made (my mom has yielded her usual trip planner role to me - she says she's passed the torch for Disney!).  I've got a pretty clear schedule on which parks we'll do which day and all of our dining reservations have been made since October.  Then the closer we get, I'll have to start making my list of things to pack including going through the kids' clothes because I remembered that Caroline was on the verge of outgrowing most of her summer clothes last fall.

It's fun to be able to say that we're going "next month" now and people at work keep asking me about it and getting this excited look on their faces for me when I tell them how close it is.  Funny how so many of us can bond on the Disney experience.

I'm so very excited for my friends in Disney this coming week and can't wait to hear their stories and see their photos!!   It's the countdown!!!!
