December 1976

My dad just got a new scanner and one of the features of it is that it can scan slides.  My dad has a LOT of slides.  A LOT.  He had a really good 35mm camera back in the 70's and was pretty good at using it too.  So you can imagine how thrilled I was to see a photo like this:  (A testament to a good camera, good photography skills and a good scanner.)

That's me and my mom in my earliest days.  Isn't it precious?  I can't get over how much Piper looks like me.  And to see me as a baby looking up at my mom like that just warms my heart.  I'm just completely in love with this photo.  I didn't even know it existed until today (as I'm sure I don't about a lot of my dad's slides since slides weren't exactly the easiest thing to view).  I just can't stop looking at it.  Maybe because it reminds me of holding my own kids like that or maybe it's because of the moment my dad caught between my mom and I.  I'm not sure exactly what it is...yet, but my heart is full just looking at it.
