Video Obsessed

My parents got Caroline a real, grown up camera for Christmas which she absolutely loves and has been taking good care of.  She takes it along with us most places (school is off limits) and takes a lot of photos.  Her camera also takes videos which she LOVES.  She loves it so much she takes videos constantly and then watches and rewatches them over and over.  You never know when Caroline could be recording you.  She spends time in her room making videos too.  And I can't lie, if I'd had that ability at that age, I'm sure I would have done the exact same thing.  The only problem with these videos (and then watching them over and over), other than the fact that they are generally quite boring, are that they eat the batteries on her camera.   She's gone through the batteries about 4 or 5 times since Christmas already.  I'm hoping the video obsession slows down but at the very least we've told her she can't keep watching them - we need to load them onto the computer for her viewing pleasure.

She's also got a new hobby - photo editing!  She takes the photos she takes of her and her siblings and then draws all over the faces with the basic Paint program.  The other night I turned on the computer and saw her handiwork and laughed hysterically.  She's quite talented.  Too bad we didn't save it or I'd share it here.  Stay tuned....

We are right there with you. Sydney doesn't have her own camera but she continues to take our iPhones and go to down with videos. Sometimes her videos need a warning that if you watch it you might get motion sickness:) but she loves to hear and see herself.

Yes, I can comment everywhere! You fixed it!

Wouldn't it be fun to let her have the camera in school one day-- just to see what goes on? LOL. Now that would be really interesting!

Agreed, K. I'd like to see that too but I don't trust her with the camera (or the other kids for that matter!)
