You know I was thinking about this when I saw the news report...I don't think Sydney would have fit backwards at 2 yes old. She is tall and she would have had no room for her legs.

Teagan will like looking at her sisters, I guess. I agree that I am not sure her legs will be comfy rear-facing for that long. The recommendations also said booster seats until 4'9" tall. That means my nieces might need a booster seat when they are getting her drivers license! LOL!!!

I too am glad that my girls didn't face backwards past 1 (it was easier for Kenzie to be backwards until 1 but when Tori came along she hated it and since she's bigger and longer, it killed me to keep her backwards until 1! Not sure I would have been able to last until 2! YIKES!
And the booster, my girls are tall so they will be fine but I know somw grown ups who are only 5 ft so that's interesting.............

I just saw that on the national news Monday night, and I'm not sure what to do about it. I was so excited to turn Andrew around when he turned one. He's been forward facing for the last 5 months, and now I'm supposed to turn him around again?? I'm going to use his long legs as an excuse to keep him facing forwards.

Not using this as an argument either way, but I know that in certain parts of Europe it's typical for kids to ride backwards until 4. I've seen photos of it - the kids just sit with their legs folded.

I say, if it's so darn safe to ride backwards, why not build cars with the backseat backwards. I mean, REALLY!?!? Or at least in a family type car like a minivan, make it an option.
