Opposite of Nocturnal

This morning at breakfast Bryce was chatting away (as usual) and he brought up the topic of bats and said,

"Yeah, bats are nocturnal so they sleep during the day but we are turnal, so we sleep at night."

I love that he thought that up by himself!

For the record, the real opposite of nocturnal is diurnal.  I'll need to clear that up for him.  Although I didn't learn the term until recently even though I've known about nocturnal since having a hamster as a kid.
