3 Months = Habit

Back in early June I decided that I was never going to get into a good workout routine if I had to rely on exercising after the kids are in bed or trying to squeeze in a walk during the workday.  The only time that left was before I go to work which meant waking up at 5:30am.  Well, I can officially say, I've been doing it now consistently for 3 months.  I've missed a day here and there, but for the most part, I've been consistent.  For the most part I'm doing exercise DVDs/OnDemand workouts that are the Jillian Michaels type (e.g. kick your ass and make you sweat) because they are less than 30 minutes and get you a great workout.

While I haven't really lost weight (maybe a couple of pounds), I have definitely noticed in recent weeks that I'm more toned than I'd been and on a cross campus walk today walking up a steep hill, I wasn't the least bit winded.  Woohoo! I also feel better and don't feel guilty just laying around after the kids are asleep and lunches are made.  I'd like to get back into doing more walking in addition and now that it's not so hot, I think we'll do that more often as a family.  I should get back into doing interval training on the treadmill too.

So that's me tooting my own horn because 4 months ago I never would have believed I could have done it.  Getting out of bed at 6:30 was tough and now, for some reason, getting up at 5:30 to, gasp, exercise isn't hard at all.

Oh and if you have the OnDemand Exercise TV feature, you must check out how bad Nicole Eggert looks.  She is in these RedZone workouts (with a trainer) which are actually good, but it's hard to believe it's her.  I feel like I look better than her in the videos!  Yep, better than a former Baywatch babe.

Okay, once T starts sleeping through the night, I wonder if you could be my wake-up call person. I SO need to start exercising in the morning, but to date, haven't been able to do it. I have never been a morning workout person, but
really is the best time.

I'm trying to drop some lbs too, but so far nada! NADA! But, like you, I am more toned and my face doesn't look as fat as it did two months ago. I'm sure I have lost some inches.

Anyways, we could keep each other honest & motivated and looking skinny!

Nicole Eggert was on Charles in Charge and on Baywatch. Never really watched Baywatch but remember seeing her looking toned and skinny. She is not now! It makes you feel good to know that celebrities have weight issues too - especially ones that were tiny in their 20's!

I never thought I'd be able to do it but often I wake up just before my 5:30 alarm now. Weird.
