Mr. Aches & Pains

As tough as Bryce was the other day about falling off of his bike and sustaining scrapes on his knees, it's interesting what a complainer it is when it comes to aches and pains.  And I think he complains the MOST at mealtimes.  I eat two meals a day with Bryce (during the week) and every single meal ends up with a few complaints:

"My stomach/leg/arm/knee/elbow/neck/throat/chest hurts."

"I'm cold!"

This morning, it was "I can't see right out of my eye."  Of course, I was completely alarmed by that one and kept having him cover the unaffected eye and asking him what he saw.  But by the time we left for school, he said it was fine - assured me it was.  (Obviously, I'll be continuing to keep a watch on that!)  A few months ago he had another equally alarming complaint about something (that I can't remember now) and by the time we left for school, he was fine.

And it's the same at dinner as it is at breakfast so it's not like he's looking for a reason to get out of going to school.  He's just constantly complaining about some ache or pain. When he wakes up in the middle of the night, he always will mention that something hurts in his sleep haze.

I don't know what to make of it because he acts fine and doesn't have any issues later on.  I don't know if he just has a low tolerance for pain or what.  Most of the time I think he's just crying wolf.
