Morning Baby Smell

One of the things I like best of all is the smell of Piper's room when I walk in first thing in the morning.  It's a smell that you only smell in a baby's room and I remember it with Caroline and Bryce too.  It's a mix of the smell of diapers, baby wipes, and just, well, baby.  I know she's not a baby baby anymore, but she's still my baby and since she's still in diapers and sleeping in a crib we'll call her a baby.

I just LOVE that smell.  It's such a sweet lovely smell and I know I associate it with walking into her room, seeing her cute little scheepy, smiley face for the first time that day.  Oh, I just love it.  Especially since I know that smell will not be around forever and her baby days are numbered.

She's always so happy to see me and is usually just laying there looking at books and rolling around with her dog, Penny, just as happy as can be.  Often we don't even know she's awake except for when she drops a book on the floor because she's so content to lay there and look at books for so long.  She's quite good at reaching her arm through the bars of the crib to grab books off of her shelf.  In fact, we usually leave a little pile of them on top so she has an easier time getting started.  I know Caroline loved to look at books like that too.  (Not that Bryce didn't and he certainly likes books now, but he wasn't as hungry for them as the girls were at that age.)
