Uncle

Seriously, I cry uncle. Ear pain continued all evening and I awoke at 2am with INTENSE ear pain. Horribly intense. I suddenly understood why someone would want to cut off their ear - um, VanGogh? The pain was radiating into my cheek bone and down my neck. I was counting the hours until Patient First opened because of course, it's Thursday - the day my doctor is closed.

Anyway, Jay was sweet enough to get the kids to school and then took me to the doctor's b/c I was not comfortable driving feeling kind of woozy. The PA barely had to look in my ear and BINGO - ear infection. Well, duh. So out the door I went with antibiotics and ear drops for the pain. Jason went onto work and I just laid on the couch feeling horrible and not being able to sleep. I did doze off for maybe an hour but still not really a good sleep.

I am convinced that the reason my cold turned into an EI so quickly is that on Tuesday, I was at the dentist and having a cavity filled and so I was laying pretty far back with my mouth open very wide. I could feel the drainage kind of being "redirected" and I just have a feeling that is what caused it. Ugh.

I am pretty achy all over too. I just need to get some quality sleep so I'm hoping the antibiotics start to have an affect soon. I can't take another night like last night.

That's terrible...a cavity & an ear infection...I hope you feel better soon. I have a pretty nasty cold myself, uh, Thank You Miss G for that!

That stinks! Sorry you had such a bad night. Don't you wish us moms could write our own prescriptions? We're usually right and it would save us a ton of time and energy (which is precious). I hope Obama adds that issue to his health care reform. ;-)

Oh no! I'm so sorry you're in such pain... I hope those antibiotics and pain meds kick in fast and you feel back to your perky self in no time. :(

And now you know why babies are so fussy and can't sleep when they get ear infections. I can sympathize having had an ear infection when I was in my mid 20's...terrible pain!
Hope you're feeling better today.
Love you!
