Apparently, I'm a Cow

This morning at around 6:30am, Bryce told me I was a cow. I'm sure hearing it from any other person or out of context might make you think I'd be offended, but surely I am not.

As I was getting dressed in my bathroom this morning, Bryce did his usual stumble into the bathroom rubbing his eyes thing and I gave him his regular round of good morning hugs and kisses. A few minutes later we heard Miss Piper waking up and we went into greet her. As is customary, if I don't feed her within 2 seconds of making eye contact with her, she screams. So I settled down with her on my lap in the rocker and gave her some breakfasty goodness. And as usual, Bryce attempts to find some way to also be on my lap at the same time. He'll basically sit on my knees which is the only part of my upper leg not being taken up by Piper and the Boppy. It looks/feels pretty uncomfortable to me, but I'm not 3 1/2 years old and he seems to enjoy it. Anyway, he's all up in Piper's business but she doesn't seem to mind and he's just chatting away with me.

Even though breastfeeding is the norm around our house, we still get lots of questions and comments about it from the kids and this morning was no different. Bryce was kissing Piper's hands while she nursed and said, "Mommies make milk for their babies. Just like cows. Mommies are cows." He had the biggest smile on his face making that analogy and while no woman I know likes being called a cow, somehow this didn't bother me at all.

So yeah, I guess according to Bryce, I am a cow. But at least I'm Piper's cow, for now. That's not such a bad thing.

The innocence of kids is always so refreshing... and, well, very cute. :)
