Pain in the Ear

As I was starting suspect yesterday, Bryce has another ear infection. Or maybe the one he had 3 weeks ago never really went away. He finished his antibiotics on Tuesday and on Thursday he started with another cold. (Caroline had it a week ago.) So he's snotty and miserable. He kept holding his ears yesterday and then was just miserable during the night and kept waking up until I gave him motrin. He kept just writhing in pain, but of course he tells you nothing hurts, not even his ears. But now, he has a fever and he did complain briefly that his ear hurt, which means it must really hurt. We finally got a dose of motrin into him again and we're waiting for that to kick in. Sigh. I'm going to call the doctor in a little bit just to let him know that we're back to this again and so we'll definitely be into see him tomorrow.

Must break cycle of colds......we've been sick the entire autumn!

Awww. I'm bummed for you. You all really have had a rough cold season so far. Hopefully everyone will clear up & cheer up by Christmas. (Actually Emily seems to have caught another cold, so we are back into the runny nose routine ourselves. Yuck.)

poor little guy... we are all too familiar with ear infections at our house! :( Hope he gets out of the cold/ear infection cycle soon!

My son used to get alot of ear infections. Keep an eye on his hearing. My son actually lost a good bit of hearing in his one ear. We had just had his hearing checked and all was fine and then all of a sudden it happened. He called me in his room and told me that I did not put on his radio (which we did every night). I heard the radio! The next day he had his hearing checked again and he wasn't hearing out of the one ear. He had alot of ear ifections. It wasn't until he was on a antibiotic for a whole month that they decided on tubes (the best thing we ever did) he hasn't had an ear infection since. He was 4 then and is now 16. It ruined his speech and he had to go to a speech therapist from the age 4 until he was in 3rd grade. All is well now. But, boy it is crazy how fast it all happened. I hope he feels better soon.
