Last night, Bryce's bedtime antics lasted all of about 12 minutes. He started up in true screaming, getting out of bed fashion, but settled down very quickly and ended up covering himself up after 12 minutes. Although in those 12 minutes he decided he didn't like his stool that is next to his bed and threw it out into the hallway at which point I confiscated it. But other than that, it was a fairly short fit and he went right to sleep.

Then at 1:30am, he calmly came into our room, woke me up and asked for his stool back. I held his hand, walked back to his room with his stool, and he covered himself back up and said good night. No crying. No screaming. No asking for other things. He even pleasantly told me good night again.

So while I'd prefer not to be woken up at all, I'll take this 100 times more than the middle of the night screamfests or the yelling and whiney requests for 25 different things. I think maybe he's starting to get it. Although I know we're not out of the woods yet.

It hasn't been easy, but our hard work is starting to pay off.
