The Plague Continues

It just doesn't end. Just when I thought I was finally kicking these colds, I feel like I've had a relapse. More coughing and head congestion. And the kids, man, the kids are worse. Bryce complains off and on about his ear which means Jay and I debate off and on about taking him to the doctor. Caroline sounds more congested in her head and chest again. Piper is now afflicted with head congestion. Jason has now succumbed to the head cold. Seriously?!?!? Caroline started with all this almost a month ago - can it really be that long ago. I am just.so.done.

I keep hoping that by this time next week we'll all be better or getting better. I'm keeping fingers crossed that Piper doesn't get sicker - sick babies break my heart! She was all smiles when I left her with Jason this morning even though she is snotty.

I'm hoping we all feel well enough to get out this weekend. The big kids are supposed to go to the Farmer's Market tomorrow with my mom and Chrissa to shop for Thanksgiving produce while Jason and Jeremy are going to install the household humidifier we just purchased. And me and Pipes? Well, I think we're going to meet up with Katie and Binnie to have some girl time. There's potential for Jason and I to get out tomorrow evening too, but that's TBD since a night out with all the bells and whistles isn't exactly in the budget these days. I know Jay wants to catch the MD vs. Florida State football game so maybe we'll just be watching that somewhere over some cheaper fare. Or a beer or two.

I've gotta start psyching myself up for the holidays b/c I don't want to bring the kids (or Jason) down. I realized last night that I was feeling particularly Grinchy. You know how the Grinch laments about the noise the Whos make during the holidays? Well, that was me last night and I realized that I didn't want to end up turning green and stealing people's Christmas - at least in a figurative sense. (Can you see me stealing candy canes from sleeping children?) Maybe I need one of those magical Christmas movies to get me in the spirit. Home Alone usually does it for me.

A good ol' Griswold family Christmas should do it.

Sydney has had a cough for forever it seems but luckly it hasn't really kept her down but I just feel bad. She sounds like she is hacking up a lung! Jenna has been sick as well. Knocking on wood that I keep healthy as I have.

I laughed trying to picture you turning green:>:> Home Alone usually does it for me too, so if you have it in the house, throw it on the TV and enjoy!

My neighbor's husband has had this for four weeks.... he comes home from work every day, goes to bed, wakes up to eat a bowl of soup, goes back to bed. The doctor told them that there is just this ridiculous month-long respiratory thing going around...
