32 Week Checkup

Forgot to post that I had my 32 week OB appointment yesterday and it was MUCH more enjoyable than the one at 30 weeks. First of all, I got my favorite nurse/medical assistant and that automatically put me in a better mood. Not only that, as we were walking back to the triage part of the office, she commented on how nice I always looked and how happy I seemed. (I honestly don't think you can say a nicer thing to a pregnant woman!!!) I thanked her and told her how good it was to have her helping me today!

Then, I found out that I hadn't gained any weight in the past 2 weeks! I honestly don't think I've done anything differently so I don't know why, b/c I'm not intentially cutting back but hearing that made me feel so good b/c I'd had some rapid gains in the weeks before. Just lets you know that sometimes there's no rhyme or reason to it. Although I expect some water weight gain in the coming weeks as I usually start getting swollen ankles after 34 weeks or so.

Then when it was "listen to the baby's heartbeat" time (my favorite part!), this little girl gave us a run for our money. She was clearly awake and moving EVERYWHERE. My stomach looked like a scene from Aliens and she made it clear that she responds well to pressure as everytime the nurse put the doppler on my skin, the baby would move. Her heartbeat was in the 160's with all that movement because it's usually only in the 140's or 150's.

After that my midwife came RIGHT in (how speedy!) and we had a nice chat. I just LOVE her - she's just so "common sense" and since I'm a lot like that, I really appreciate that quality in her. I'm still measuring right on target and my iron/glucose levels are just fine, so everything is looking great. I keep forgetting to ask her how I was measuring with my other pregnancies b/c I'm curious if I was measuring right on target with them too only to have 9lbers. But that can wait 2 weeks, I guess.
