Belly Ache

Oof, I guess it's time. I mean, I am approaching the 3rd trimester and with measuring 2 weeks ahead on my last check, that would put me right there. So I guess it's just par for the course. I was just so wiped out last night when I got home and the kids seemed to be in a very clear non-listening mode which added to my frustration. Jay and I got through dinner, playtime and bath/bedtime and by that point, I was as limp as a wet rag. Thank goodness Jason managed the few sleep time hurdles once I finally sat down on the couch to fold laundry b/c there was no energy left in my muscles to go back upstairs and put a certain 4 year old back in bed. I just ached - my whole belly felt like a HUGE lead weight and it hurt. So after folding was done, I laid down and passed out in seconds although I know #3 was doing some considerable dancing in there because when I woke up 30 minutes later, I felt like I had Dance Party USA going on inside. But that 30 minute power nap gave me enough energy to pack my lunch and drag myself upstairs to bed where, of course, I couldn't fall asleep right away thanks to my nap. However, that little bit of sleep seemed to soothe my immediate aches and pains. And while I didn't get as much sleep as I probably needed last night, at least I don't feel like complete crap today. Although I was rushing to get into work this morning and now I feel like I could hurl, but that's pretty normal right now considering my stomach is starting to get squished. Did I mention my heartburn is starting???? I've pretty much avoided it the entire pregnancy until now, so that's way better than my other pregnancies. (And btw, why can't someone invent an antacid that you just swallow instead of chewing up? The thought of EATING Tums or a liquid Maalox is what makes me want to barf. That nasty chalky taste in my mouth....ew.)

Try the Tums smoothies. They are silky not chalky and they have different flavors. My favorite is the vanilla, chocolate and cappicino varity.

I've actually got a bottle of those and while better texture-wise than plain ones, they still are chalky. I hate that I have to chew them up and then they get in my teeth and I can't get the taste out of my mouth/throat. Even if I brush my teeth. I've actually broken them up in half before and swallowed them w/o chewing.

I was going to suggest what you said you have tried. I don't like that they are chalky either so I tend to just swallow without chewing. Don't know if it effects the way they work but does make it easier for them to go down!
