"I see things differently..."

Jason just called me to share this little quote from our daughter last night. He and Caroline had a bit of a scuffle around 9pm last night when she wouldn't go to sleep. (This was after the "cheek incident" below.) He got angry with her for talking back to him and then shut her door and went to get ready for bed. But, after he was ready for bed, he went back in to talk to her and he told her he didn't like it when they got mad at one another. He said that he didn't like when she talks back to him and argues with him. And she says as she's laying there sucking her thumb, "Well, I see things differently..."

Jason had to stifle some laughter on that one because he certainly wasn't expecting a response like that. So he went onto remind her who the "bosses" are in our house and who makes the rules. Although with the way she expresses things sometimes, I wonder how long it will be before she is starting to question things even more in a mature manner. Do I have a future law student on my hands? She certainly likes to talk and is pretty good at coming up with rationale for things if you ask her.

Oh dear... that sounds like something we'd hear at our house... we really DO need to get these kids together. Or maybe not. They just might band together and then they'd REALLY be trouble. ;)
