Really, Not a Whole Lot Better

Wake up call this morning? 6:15am. Bryce woke up and his glow friend was going out (it wasn't plugged in all the way) and that woke Caroline up. We did convince them to stay in bed since it was still dark and that worked until 7am. In which time I could not go back to sleep. And last night I didn't go to sleep until midnight, whereas on Friday night I passed out on the couch at 10pm, so I'm working on less sleep today than I had the night before. (Even though I was tired, I just wasn't sleepy last night and used the time I was awake to do some laundry and read a magazine.)

So now the kids are eating breakfast and Caroline is already barking orders at Bryce (stop talking, stop saying that, don't put your fork in your mouth like that, no singing Christmas songs.....).

My MIL always talks about how when her kids were about this age, she taught Jason to bring Kelly downstairs and how to turn on the TV and to get cups she'd left for them in the fridge and then they'd watch TV for a bit so that she and my FIL could sleep a little later. That's a good idea for Caroline but it would not interest Bryce as he rarely will sit in front of a TV for more than 10 minutes and is much more interested in what "my mommy" and "my daddy" are doing - even if it's just sleeping.

This has just been one of those "why did I bother?" weekends. Usually I feel recharged by Sunday evening and ready to start another week. I don't think I'm going to feel that way by this evening and it's going to basically feel like I didn't even get a weekend break - something my body is really starting to need more of now.

Yeeeeeah... you have my sympathies. :( We've already had the 'i'm not eating that, or that, or that, or that" breakfast argument...

So sorry. We are having the night time problem more than the morning problem. Sydney will not go to bed but once she is in bed she will sleep.
