No Greasy Spoons for Bryce

I was thinking the other day and realized it had been ages since I'd been out to breakfast. While I really like going out to dinner from time to time, I really enjoy the occassional breakfast outing. But then I realized why we hadn't been out.....EGGS. If you go out to breakfast, virtually anything on the menu - well anything good - contains eggs. Pancakes, french toast, omlettes (duh!), danish..... And while yes, you can always get cereal or oatmeal at these places, how hard would it be to take my 22 month old along to breakfast where he can't have any of the things we're having. Virtual torture if you ask me. Right now we get around this by using an egg-free pancake mix at home and at daycare so he doesn't even realize he's not having the same thing that we are. We also rarely eat egg dishes or anything containing eggs at other times, so he doesn't even know what he's missing. He even has his own "peanut butter" which is soy butter so he thinks he's eating the same peanut butter and jelly sandwich Caroline is eating.

He's just too young to understand that he can't have that stuff. And would make it very well known that he wants it. So for now, we'll skip any "out to breakfast" days. Although I just realized that when we go to the beach, we'll have to figure something out since we always stop for breakfast on the way down and last year he was still young enough not to care that he was eating cereal when the rest of us were eating egg laden dishes.

You might want to add how particular you are about eggs yourself. I can barely have them around here because "they stink". I can't even make egg salad without some negative comment. Oh how I miss my egss, :(.

Awww, poor Brycey! And poor mommy for no breaky out! Food allergies stink, but good for you to have that realization (about the restaurant) BEFORE you went rather than there. Hey, maybe he'll have the same egg-aversion as you! I can't GET Baz to eat them!

Yeah, you're right, I do have egg issues. And you know what, sometimes I think that the reason Bryce is allergic to egg is karma. I remember as a kid hating eggs so much that I told my mom that I wished I was allergic to them. (She clearly told me that was not such a great thing...) So I'm convinced karma bit me in the ass on this one. (I don't think I've ever told anyone that before.)

I learn something new about you every day. That's one of the reasons I love you.
