A Miracle Happened Here

After lunch, I let the kids play with their sand and water table and let them have water in it. They were thrilled and playing happily (and quietly) so I decided to take advantage of a few moments of peace and call my very pregnant friend, Heather, just to check in on her. (She's due 7/14 and is very ready!) Of course, I think it's just how kids work that as soon as they see mommy on the phone, it means it's time to act up. I tried to subdue them and keep them interested in something while I was chatting (this call ended up being less than 15 minutes, mind you) but nothing was working. Bryce wanted his hands washed off and then it happened....Caroline, my child who does not nap without protest, came over to me and said, "Mommy, I'm tired."

WHAT? I don't think I've ever heard her say that before. So as not to miss this window of opportunity and obvious that both of their expiration dates had come up, I said good bye and got them cleaned up and up to their rooms. Caroline is already asleep and Bryce is still holding on fussing b/c he is so tired. They even slept "later" this morning - until about 7:30am, so I'm amazed that a morning of art, running around and catching a show or two would make them so tired. But who am I to look a gift horse in the mouth?
