Just another busy weekend....

How is it Monday already? Whew! I'm tired!

Jay and I had a mini date night on Friday - I call it mini because we only went to Cheeburger, Cheeburger and then walked around Ikea for a bit. The kiddos spent the night with my parents and had a jolly time while Jay and I enjoyed some burgers and delicious shakes before spending a few bucks on Ikea goodies. And thanks to the kiddies sleeping elsewhere, we both slept until 8:30am. It was heaven.

Apparently, the kids were up late and up early, so my mom said she wanted to get them down for naps before I picked them up since she didn't want to be responsible for their behavior if they were grumpy. (Ha ha ha!) I arrived after early naps and we went home and played with Jay before he had to leave to help out at the beach club dance that night. They were both bathed and in bed by 8:30 and by some miracle, they both slept until 8am on Sunday morning. What was going on? I have never gotten so much sleep in a weekend! (So why am I still tired???)

And because we knew it was going to be so hot yesterday, we took the kids down to the beach club to enjoy the peace of a Sunday morning in the two pool. Of course by 12:30pm, we were getting hungry, but that didn't mean Caroline was ready to go. She followed me crying out of the pool area, but calmed down shortly before leaving the grounds. I understand her frustration b/c I would have liked to have stayed the whole day too, but we purposely didn't bring lunch and Bryce always needs a nap, so there really wasn't any other options. But I promised her in the near future we would make a date on a Saturday afternoon to meet Daddy's family down there and spend the entire rest of the day there. She seemed happy with that and went merrily on her way, especially after finding a quarter that she could use to "feed her pig" when she got home. And because it was Father's Day, I gave Jay the choice of either getting the groceries or staying with the kids. To my surprise he chose the latter and I got to enjoy the relatively quiet grocery store while Jason entertained Caroline in her little pool on the deck. Bryce didn't awake until I got home and then they played in the pool while I made a delicious dinner - Grilled Lemon Chicken with Olive/Tomato Rice. Yum!

Finally, the kids were clearly exhausted so we got them in the tub just as Aunt Kelly and Uncle Jesse arrived for a visit. The kids went to bed while we sat on the deck and chatted for a while and got bitten to death by "MO-squitos." (As Caroline calls them) It's so nice to have them around again and know they won't be 3000 miles away in just a few days.

So here I sit, tired, waiting for the people in our tech department to fix something so I can load the applications (It wasn't broken on Friday - what happened??? Damn updates!) Don't worry, I'm doing other work while I wait....

Sounds like a wonderful weekend. We took Sydney swimming on Sunday as well. She loved it and gave us a fuss for having to leave as well.

Where do the weekends go.....
