Poor Caroline was stung by her first bee this morning at Bertie's house! My mom said that she was standing next to her by the pool and all of a sudden she said, "I got bitten by a MO-squito." And then started crying. My mom knew right away it wasn't a mosquito - it was a bee. But she was a brave little soldier and let Bertie clean it and take care of it. By the time I talked to her, she was just fine and was telling me about her yellow band-aid.

My mom said they had been talking about how bees were usually yellow and black and much bigger than mosquitos so that Caroline can learn to distiguish which ones are dangerous and which ones are just flies. I asked Caroline what color the bee was and she said, "Yellow, green and orange." I'm guessing we won't have too many of those kinds of bees around our house.

And my first thought when my mom told me was, THANK GOD we have an Epi-Pen Jr. at the ready all the time due to Bryce's allergies. He's never been stung and I don't have any reason to believe he'd be allergic, but you never know. Let's hope there aren't too many more bee stings in the future!

Awww, poor little muffin! SOunds like she was a trooper! Too bad she didn't get a picture of that bee- sounds like a unique one! You are lucky to have an Epi-pen at the ready...I may have to go order one, just in case....

FWIW on the thumbsucking...I think you're approaching it right- she'll quit when she's ready and forcing the issue will just make things rough for all of you! I'm a hair twirler and although I can curtail it when necessary, it still pops out when I'm stressed and going to sleep
