I voted....

for the worst! Yes, I voted TWICE for Sanjaya! And I really don't even watch American Idol. I'm really not a fan of the show, but there's been so much chatter lately about voting for the "worst" that I got caught up in it. Jay and I did watch it fairly religiously during the season when I was pregnant with Bryce (he liked Bo Bice) and we always watch the hilarous audition part of the season, but usually when they get to the all singing part, we bail. Of course, Howard Stern has taken the "Vote for the Worst" cause to his fans and I guess I've fallen prey. To me, it's a very interesting social experiment. I don't see how every year they can turn out the supposed "idol" and expect them to always do well. It's a very polarizing issue - you either love American Idol or you just think it's a load of crap. So I'm taking the "load of crap" route and voting for Sanjaya. He looked like Colonel Sanders in that white suit tonight.

I thought it was funny this morning when I woke up and overheard some annoying "free radio" DJs arguing w/ the Vote for the Worst website founder. What they don't realize is that by interviewing this guy and arguing with him, they're adding more fuel to the fire. Just based on that interview, I wanted to vote even more for Sanjaya and I'm predicting that I'm not the only one that feels this way. So let's go Sanjaya!!

I can't believe you did that. I'm upset with you. If you don't watch it, why do you care who wins? I watch it and get so annoyed each week that we have to be subjected to his singing. He's really terrible.

To be honest, the only one I was really impressed w/ last night (this was my first time watching the singing portion this season) was the last girl. I think she's the one from the MD area. Everyone was kind of ho-hum. And you're right, Sanjaya is pretty bad. I don't know if I'll be voting again for any of them since it was an odd occassion that I even had a chance to watch it.
