Disney on Ice

Today my mom, sister and I took the kids to see Disney on Ice downtown. My mom got the tickets a few weeks ago for the noon show and I was a little bit worried since that would definitely interfere with Bryce's regular early nap time. We left here around 10am so that we could get Caroline's hair cut on the way over to pick up my mom and we got downtown and into our seats just a few minutes before the show started. Caroline was thrilled when Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Donald, Daisy, and the Chipmunks took the ice and Bryce even got to clapping too. (Caroline has recently gotten into Mickey and friends thanks to Playhouse Disney's Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.

Overall the show was pretty impressive in terms of costumes and skating, but since the theme was 100 Years of Disney, it was basically just a conglomeration of Disney animated features over the last 100 years. Caroline sat pretty much enraptured the entire time and Bryce sat on my lap hooting and clapping and even dancing some. It seemed the intermission was there before we knew it and the 2nd half went fast too. By far the best part was the "It's a Small World" production. Caroline said that it was her favorite part since Mickey came down in a lit up balloon at the end.

Of course it was crazy to see the prices for everything and was very appreciative that my mom was the one who bought the 3rd row tickets, program, and each of the kids a Mickey Mouse small stuffed animal as a souvenir. But now since they both only napped in the car on the way home, we're dealing with the aftermath of a grumpy Caroline and a late napping Bryce. I hate how changes to their schedules - even for good reason - always result in us having to deal with unhappy kids later.

I have always wanted to know if the show was good. Sydney watches Play House Disney and loves the characters. She probably would enjoy the show. Sounds like Caroline and Bryce enjoyed themselves even though they were tired after the fact.
