M-O-M-M-Y Needs C-O-F-F-E-E

A line from the song constantly running through my head these days and the absolute truth. Thanks to Ralph's World for getting that worm in my head since getting the CD for Bryce at Christmas. But honestly, boy did I need some C-O-F-F-E-E this morning! I have been having trouble falling asleep at night mostly because I got into bad habits over the winter break and then Bryce was up at 4am crying and then Caroline came in and sat on my bed at 4:30am rarin' to go. I told her to go back to bed because it was still night and she complied. Of course, she wondered why daddy was taking a shower at night on her way out. (I wonder why sometimes too!) So I did snooze for another hour, but then I was up and TIRED. At least my mommydom has helped me get used to sleep deprivation and it doesn't make me as non-functioning as it used to. I thought I'd actually have no problem getting to sleep last night since I even had a nice brisk walk on the treadmill earlier.

And what's worst of all, when I finally do fall asleep, I dream that I'm NOT asleep, so I can't tell if I really slept or not. Does that make sense? It's kind of miserable. I need to stop obsessing about it.

Caroline was in good spirits this morning though and I think she was excited to go to Cathy's. Cathy was very happy to see them when we walked in and it was nice to see that both kids were happy to be there. I've been meaning to check in with Cathy today to see how things are going, but haven't had a chance since work is busy with the January deadlines looming.
