A weird post for late on Christmas Eve

The prezzies are out, the milk is drunk, and the cookies are eaten. Jay is even in bed already! I'm headed in that direction, but checked online to get my fix and I see this article posted by a friend on my mom's message boards:

What's Wrong with Cinderella?

I thought this was very interesting considering I kind of always winced at the fantaticism that some people have for the whole Disney Princess line of toys, media, etc. I don't mind the individual movies too much, but the whole Princess group kind of exemplifies things about the "princess mentality" that I have problems with in today's culture and the world that girls grow up in today. Maybe I'm just being touchy, but I really don't like the idea of girls wanting to be princesses in the hopes that they will be rescued by a white knight. Being a princess is fine if you want to make changes and really help people, but don't sit back and wait for Prince Charming to come and make your life complete. But hey, that's just me.

And I know by strongly disliking this stuff is only going to jinx me into having Caroline be head over heels in love with it in a year or two. We'll see.
