Rudolph & Extra Marshmallows

Tonight, Caroline and I watched the annual showing of Rudolph. We tried to get her to watch it last year when she was 2 and she barely had any interest. But this year, it's a whole new ballgame. After dinner, both kids had a bath and Brycey was in bed by 7:30. That left a half hour for C and I to make hot cocoa with extra marshmallows and get in front of the TV to watch Rudolph at 8pm. She really liked it, but I'm not surprised since she's been watching "Santa Claus is Coming to Town" that my mom got her on video at the dollar store and it's the same type of animation. Of course she didn't sit still the whole time but she liked seeing the reindeer and the Island of Misfit Toys. She also was not scared at all by the Snow Monster in the earlier part of the show since I told her that it was a nice monster. (I remember being a little scared of it!) We'll see how much she absorbed, but it was fun to enjoy a holiday tradition of mine with my own child for the first time.
