The Holidays Are Upon Us

Ah yes, today is my last day of work for 2006 and I sit here finishing up odds and ends to clear my desk completely so that when we come back and are SLAMMED with applications due to applicant's extra time and procrastination for the 1/15 deadline, I will be ready. January is typically a crazy time here in this office and last year we were unprepared for the extra craziness that came with some changes in our policies and process, but this year will be different!

So this morning on my way to work I stopped off at Starbucks and treated myself to a delicious Gingerbread Latte courtesy of my boss who gave me a giftcard for the holiday. (I in turn gave him some home brewed beer since I recently found out he is a fan of good beer and Jason just finished a batch of some brown ale.) I also gave our office manager some very yummy gluten free cookies I made with a mix I bought online when I was buying mixes for egg/dairy free cookies for Bryce. Cherry Brook Kitchen I was impressed with how well both kinds turned out and thought it would be a gift my friend would enjoy since she rarely gets these kind of treats due to her celiac disease (gluten intolerance).

And while my shopping will be complete this evening when I stop off at Sam's Club for some groceries and a few food gift items, I still have quite a bit of wrapping to do. At least it's something Jason and I do together rather than harboring all on my own. He's a good man!

Finally, when I got home last night, there was a prezzie waiting for me from "the kids."

Very cute! I just love it. Although if we have another kid someday, I'll need an update. ;) (No, I'm not pregnant!)
