Waking up on the wrong side of the crib

Poor Brycey certainly woke up on the wrong side of the crib this morning. Sometime after 6am I heard him stirring, but still managed to stay mostly asleep. Then at around 6:30 he started fussing and I started to wake up. Then.....CRASH! and SCREAM! I ran in there as fast as I could knowing full well that I'd find him on the floor. And there he was, sitting there crying. But the worst part? The side of the crib was down.

I picked him up quickly and he quieted down pretty fast but I just kept thinking, why was that side down? I remember distinctly putting it up when I put him to bed last night. But as I stood there kissing him, I remembered. When I brought Caroline up to bed at 9pm last night (she stays up late on Fridays), he woke up and I went in and picked him up. But because I was hurrying to get him back in bed while he was still half asleep and before Caroline could come in and yell, I obviously forgot to put the side back up.

I felt terrible, but at least he's no worse for the wear. Caroline has fallen off the changing table and our bed before and that was my fault too. Thank goodness neither has been seriously injured and I've learned lessons in all of those cases.

When I told Caroline this morning about Bryce falling she said, "Did you catch him mommy?" And then asked if I put medicine on his head.

I don't know if you remember, but Sydney had an out of crib experience too! They definitely leave lasting memories with you. Glad to hear all is well!!

Glad he's okay! That must have been scary.
