My Brave Little Man

I had to take Bryce to get his 1yr bloodwork and allergy bloodwork done today and I was dreading it b/c who likes seeing their child get stuck. But I had high hopes since he's barely cried when getting his vaccinations. So we got to Quest and both kids were being so good. They took us right back and Caroline sat up on the exam table and colored while I held Bryce in the "blood" chair. I held him tight and they stuck in the needle. He barely flinched! The phlebotanists (SP?)couldn't believe it and were able to get all their viles filled. They told me afterward that they didn't have much hope for getting that much blood from a baby. The only thing he did to signal it wasn't fun was a little whimper when they were on the final vile. I just couldn't believe how brave he was! I gave him his sippy cup of milk and he drained the thing and it was like nothing had ever happened. I was such a proud momma!

Here's a pic of Caroline from this evening:

She was so funny - she sang almost constantly and wanted me to sing with her, but she writes all of her own songs and lyrics so it was kind of hard. She likes to fill her songs with bits and pieces of songs from her favorite shows and then peppers them with things she sees around her. This evening she was on a "shout" kick and would sing a line and then want me to say, "Shout!" I have no idea where this came from, but she was totally into it. And she has been so agreeable the past few days, I'm more than happy to play along. Let's hope for more of the same as the weekend rolls along!
