Random Friday Thoughts

Can you believe how cool it is outside? Wow, this tropical storm has certainly brought some gray and ugly end of summer weather with it, huh?

Big hugs out to Katie and her extended family right now. You are in my thoughts!

Another Terrapin football season starts tomorrow. Do I sound enthused? Maybe b/c the first game is vs. William and Mary. Maybe because they have 2 losing seaons to dig their way out of. Or maybe I've just got other things on my mind. Let's hope Ralph can turn this season into one worth caring more about.

So today marks the beginning of September and 2 months until Halloween. I'm not a huge fan of Halloween but Caroline has been anticipating it this year and tells me all the time that she is going to be a cat. Last year I waited until the last second to get her a costume (ladybug). So I already started looking for a cat costume, just to see what is out there. Well, I must say, I am not impressed with what I've found in the cat department. There are so many cute animal costumes out there (puppies, lambs, pigs, etc) that are all puffy and sweet. But all the cat costumes are either sexy looking (umm, for a toddler????) or they don't even resemble a cat except that the costume includes a ear headband and a tail. Then it has a skirt with leopard print or something. HUH???? So I think I've decided I'm going to make it. Not that it will be very hard. I will probably go the black cat route since that will be the easiest stuff to find. A black sweat suit and then decide where to go from there. I think Bryce will wear the bumblebee costume Caroline wore 2 years ago. Poor kid won't be able to eat much of the candy - not that he needs it.

I think I'm leaving work early today to do some errands and start cleaning in preparation for the party on Sunday. It's always so enjoyable to do mundane tasks by myself these days. Going to Target and cleaning without a child is a freeing experience.

Have a great weekend!
