And the story...

Well, the wedding went off very well. Jason and I arrived up at the ILs at 7:30am on Saturday morning so that I could get my hair done. Jay fed Bryce and then left Caroline and I there so he could take Bryce to his grandmother's. The photographer arrived just before 10am and we took pictures until just before 11am. My ILs took Caroline onto the ceremony as we waited for the limo. The limo was supposed to be there at 11, but didn't show up until 11:15. We were actually ready on time! Of course there was a minor catastrophe when I thought I locked my flowers in their house. But a quick call to my FIL resulted in finding out the code to their garage door and all was well. When we arrived at Geneva Farms, everyone was seated (it was an outdoor ceremony) and it was really cool to pull up and see everyone waiting. As we drove up I noticed Jason was holding Bryce - not a good sign. (He was a groomsman.) So the limo pulls right up to the ceremony and the bridesmaids basically get out and walk down the aisle. At this point, Jason is standing at the front (looking mighty fine, I might add) and holding Bryce who was calm and just looking around. But then, Bryce spots MOMMA and all bets were off. All he could do from that point was try to get to me and get out of Jason's arms. Caroline walked down the aisle a little sheepishly, but looked adorable and got lots of ooos and ahhhs from the guests. She took her place next to me at the front and behaved so well and amazed me at her patience. Midway through the ceremony, one of MIL's friends took it upon herself to take Bryce and suprisingly he didn't seem to mind. (I think the change of scenery distracted him.) So Jason got to relax a little and the ceremony ended beautifully. We took a few more pictures and it was onto the reception. Caroline had a ball - she ate cake, danced, and just flitted aroud talking to people and herself. Bryce did pretty well too and finally passed out on Nana's (MIL) lap for a short nap. Afterwards, we even decided to go back to the ILs for a little more social time.

So all in all, it was a great day. Kelly looked amazing and both her and Jesse were just ecstatic to finally be married. Everyone seemed to have such a great time at the wedding and the ILs were gracious hosts. Needless to say though, we were all exhausted at the end of the day and I think I'm still recovering from the effort. But it was all worth it. Kelly and Jesse are back in San Diego now and returning to normal life.

There were lots of little things that happened that made me laugh that I'll have to share later. Caroline always seems to have funny things to say and do. But that is just how life is with a 2 year old!
