Brycey Goes Vertical

It's official, Bryce can officially move vertically now. I'm talking stairs, stools, and bathtubs. Oh man, it's time to put the gate back on the bottom of the steps. Jason got a laugh out of the fact that he was sitting here at the computer and he looked over and there was Bryce standing on Caroline's stool playing with her kitchen. My baby boy wants to cook!

We are getting soooooooooooo much rain here it's ridiculous. Just about the time the deck dries off, the rain starts again - and usually hard. I feel like we're in monsoon season.

Saturday night Jason had a party to work down at the beach club so I took the kids over to my mom's, but once we got home and both kids were asleep, I ordered up Brokeback Mountain OnDemand. I've been wanting to see it for a while now and Jason had no desire. It was absolutely heartbreaking. Such a sad story. It was really well done and both Heath Ledger and Jake Gylenhall were amazing in it, but it did drag in some places. The hardest thing for me was that they both had midwestern type accents and it was really difficult to understand them. But for some reason, the movie didn't have closed captions either - WTH? So I'm left guessing what they said sometimes. Overall though, it was really an interesting film that really makes you think about how much harder it was to be gay back in those times. Not that it's a walk in the park these days - but at least there's a much larger population that is supportive then there was back then. Just makes me sad that people have to deny who they really love and care about because they are afraid of such drastic repercussions. (And for anyone out there wondering if it's grossly sexual - it's not. Yes there is one sex scene but it's fairly short and you don't see much. Can't say that for most heterosexual love scenes these days.)
