Growing and growing

So do you ever have one of those days where it seems like you can actually see your kids growing up? Today was one of those days with Caroline. And it's such a bittersweet thing to deal with. On one hand, you are thrilled with how well they are doing and amazing they are, but on the other you are losing the baby. (It's a good thing I have a spare right now!) Anyway, she was so cute today. Just as expressive as ever and talkative. She is speaking in complete sentences most of the time now and really can have a conversation with you (when she wants!). We went over to my mom's and she was so funny - she was petting Boomer and hugging him and I asked her if he was soft and fluffy. She said, "Yes, he is soft and fluffy like a cloud." A simile and she's not even 2 1/2 yet! :) Then she looks at my mom's sweatshirt - that she had never seen her wear before - and she says, "Look, it's SuperDog." It had a picture of a dog with a cape and mask on - like a super dog. I have no idea where that came from.

She also used the potty several times today and is getting so good at knowing the routine with that. She's also really into playing kitchen and can really play and interact like she's cooking. Later on, as I was sitting and watching her sing along to some songs on one of Bryce's toys, I realized how much she is changing - her looks and her abilities. But she still gives me lots of hugs and kisses and tells me "I love you the most!" so I guess I will have to let her grow up. (How did our mom's do it?)

Bryce continues to be my babydoll and shows his extreme preference for mommy no matter where we go. At my mom's we had him sitting up on the counter in front of my mom and he was grabbing at me and flirting with me like you wouldn't believe. He just lights up when I come near him and strains from wherever he is sitting to see me. Caroline was never quite as enamored with me as Bryce seems to be. Of course I could use a little less mommy addiction in the middle of the night.
