Thanksgiving Eve

Oh boy oh boy oh boy! It's starting! The holiday season is upon us! And I have so much of my Christmas shopping DONE! We've got a busy Thanksgiving weekend planned too. Tonight we start by the 4 of us going to Pizza Johns for din din. It's local pizza place that is just the People come from all over Baltimore for the food and, as luck would have it, it's VERY close to us. We started this tradition last year b/c we wanted something that was kind of anti-Thanksgiving food the night before and something fun for the kids. Then, tomorrow morning Caroline and I will watch the Macy's parade. There is going to be a big Dora balloon, so she will LOVE it. (I never understood the appeal of the character balloons before, but now I do!) We'll have a yummy breakfast and then go to Jason's grandmother's for dinner. We alternate families each year for Turkey day, so it's Jay's family's turn this year. Then on Friday, is the first annual Cookie Baking Day with my mom and kids. I don't think Bryce will be doing too much baking this year, but Caroline will be getting in on the action. I'm sure she'll be covered in confections by day's end, but it will be so fun to get so much baking done in one day. My mom has double ovens and oodles of counterspace so it's a perfect place. Plus, I'm going to bring my Kitchenaid mixer so we'll have 2 of them to keep the dough just rolling. I'm planning on making 2 kinds of biscotti, chocolate chip cookies, and snickerdoodles. Mmmmmm!

Oh and Caroline has a new "crush." She is in love with Dora's cousin, Diego. She just walks around the house singing "Eeeeee-egg-ooooooooooooo!" And when he's on TV, she likes to "hug" him and give him kisses. She also likes to pretend she is Baby Jaguar (Diego's pet) and goes around roaring at everything. I think I'm going to have to use my $10 Toys R Us giftcard to pick her up the little action figure for her birthday. How can she have Dora w/o Diego?
